Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation Review

One fine day in the midst of the blazing summer heat, I had the pleasure of attending my husband's company event at California's Great America theme park. There was a lot to consider when getting ready -- I would be meeting a lot of his co-workers for the first time, I wanted to be comfortable in the heat and sun, and I wanted to look my best. I decided to use the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation as I knew it was high performing, and that my makeup would stay in place all day. I'm glad I chose this foundation, since it met my expectations!

The picture of my makeup is after the WHOLE DAY of walking around the park with the sun, humidity, wind and random spritzes of water from the rides. Beyond having the makeup around my nose a bit messed up due to my shades, I would say this is stellar performance. Here are some details on the foundation (my color is 36 Golden Beige).

  • Shade Range: Medium

  • Color Family: Yellow

  • Coverage: Full coverage

  • Consistency: Liquid, Lightweight

  • Pigment: High, uses twice the amount of pigment other high coverage foundations use

  • Finish: Soft Matte, Powder Finish

  • Wear Time: Longwear, Long-lasting, 24-hour

  • Application Tool: Flat Top Kabuki Brush

What I loved about this foundation is that unlike most full coverage foundations which are thick and heavy in consistency and like to float on top of the skin, this foundation is actually a silky, lightweight texture that binds beautifully with your skin and the products you prepped your skin with (moisturizer, primer, face oil, etc.). I applied Marula facial oil by Jean Paul Selects and a just a few dots of foundation.

I recommend adequately hydrating your skin before using this foundation, because it makes spreading the product around effortless. This is important for those with dry skin, since dry skin tends to absorb moisture upon contact, and you wouldn't want to have the foundation stick to where you applied it, before you could spread it around.

I DID NOT use a setting powder to set my makeup. I found that using the foundation on its own helped my makeup stay supple and hydrated, which in turn helped the foundation bind with my skin, instead of drying it out and then flaking off or fading.

Overall, this is one of my favorite foundations, and is great to use for any special event, daily use, or just a walk in the (theme) park. Leave a comment below if you have any questions, or if you want to share your experience with the Marc Jacobs Remarcable Foundation!

XOXO,
